The Gift of Love

Chris was the perfect example to all of us of the pure love of Christ & serving others. This year in honor of Chris our family decided we were not going to give gifts to each other as we usually do. This year we drew names & the person we drew we would give acts of love & service to them staring on Dec. 18th Chris Birthday until Christmas. In doing so we have given each other what is considered the most precious gift of all gifts. The Gift of Love. Doing this we have felt closer to our Savior & following the example of having the pure love of Christ & serving all just as Chris did for all while he as here with us. Which I feel we are also closer to Chris as we did this. We each have put someone else first & their happiness & not so much about ourselves this Christmas season. Thanks to Chris for the example of this Pure love. We love you & miss you very much but look forward to the day we will be together again one day to feel one of your amazing hugs!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Today is Chris & Carrey's 40th Birthday.  How time flies by from this picture of Chris and Carrey as infants to today.  Everyday we think of you, but a little more today on your birthday.

All who knew Chris knew of his amazing ability to impersonate voices.  One of his favorite to impersonate was President Thomas S. Monson.  Several times I remember him telling me the following poem. (In President Monson's voice of course)

“God gave us memories, that we might have June roses in the December of our lives”

I thought that was fitting with this photo of a rose that Chris took back in 2009.  I was thinking this morning of how grateful I am for pictures and memories.  Many time as I'm thinking of Chris, I scan through my various pictures and feel close to him.  Thank goodness for memories!

It was on March 16, 2006 when we left for our amazing adventure together to Germany & Switzerland! I am so grateful for all the wonderful memories we had together, I will forever treasure them! Thank you for putting it all together for us! I loved being with you on one of you traveling adventures. I miss & love you very much! But I am sure this past year you have experienced many more exciting adventures! Thanks for all the love & support you always gave me & my family!
